How to Charge Your C-Series

Charging your SAVIC C-Series electric motorbike is simple > and can easily fit into your daily routine. The C-Series comes with a 3.3kW AC onboard charger with a standard Type 2 (IEC 62196) plug, which draws power at a rate of 1.8kW from a 240V home power outlet, or up to a maximum rate of 3.3kW on a 15 amp outlet or public Level 2 charger.

You can charge your C-Series through any 240V wall plug where you can charge your phone, simply by using the adaptor cable that comes with the motorcycle. For a faster charging experience, you can use any private or public 15 amp (Level 2)  power outlet.

Here's what you need:

  • Standard household outlet (10-amp): A full charge from empty takes around 8 hours.

  • 15-amp outlet (recommended upgrade): Reduces full charge time to just 4.5 hours.

  • No special charger required. Your C-Series comes ready to plug into a regular power point.

Pro tip: Plug in overnight — just like you charge your phone.

How Often Should You Charge It?

The C-Series Alpha model has an average riding range of 200km (combined city and freeway riding).

For most riders:

  • Daily commuters: A simple top-up after a few rides will keep you covered.

  • Weekend riders: One overnight charge will get you ready for your next adventure.

If you only travel shorter distances (e.g. 20km per day), you may only need a full charge once or twice a week.

When Should You Charge?

To get the best out of your battery (and your electricity bill) timing matters.

Best charging times:

  • Off-peak hours: After 10pm or before 7am (cheaper, lighter grid load).

  • During the day: If you have access to solar panels at home or work, daytime charging can be free or ultra-cheap.

Avoid charging:

  • During peak hours (4pm–9pm) when home energy demand is highest.

If you need to charge while on the road, public chargers are expanding across Australia. Many public charging companies coordinate with the electricity network to ensure reliable supply — just make sure to check charger availability before heading out.

Smart Charging Tips:

  • Use a timer switch to delay charging until off-peak times.

  • Explore EV-specific tariffs from energy retailers for cheaper rates.

  • Consider installing a 15-amp outlet at home for faster charging if you ride often.
