The first surprise with the C-Series Alpha is the acceleration. Twist the Domino throttle and the response is smooth, but it doesn’t take long to realise how much shove is waiting underneath.
It's so easy to ride. And when I hit the acceleration, it was absolutely awesome. To anyone who has any doubts: please don’t criticise this bike until you’ve had a ride. I guarantee you’ll be blown away!
This bike feels like a revolution. It’s just so easy to ride. You don’t have to think about anything. There’s no clutch or gears – if you’re not a very technical rider, it makes life very easy.
The throttle is instant and perfect, the cornering amazing. I thought it would be a bit top-heavy, but it’s perfectly balanced – and so quick! And it stops on a dime: the brakes are super-responsive. Doing city riding without having to change gears is going to be a dream.
It’s similar to the riding position of my Bonneville. Initially the ‘tank cover’ makes it look really big, but as soon as you start moving, your knees and hands are in the right position, and it doesn’t feel big anymore. At slow speeds, it actually feels light and intuitive – a bit like a sports bike.

The handling is nimble, the reverse gear is a lifesaver, and the ride… it just silently teleports you to the speed you want. This bike blows people’s minds, I’m an introvert, but I’m rising to the challenge… and getting very good at answering questions about where the bike’s made and how it rides!
