Marc Alexander

Marc Alexander was always destined to become Savic Motorcycles’ first full-time CTO.

Since 2018, the motorcycle-mad Melburnian has been a driving force in our evolution – from supporting our development as a technology mentor, to advising on our commercialisation and IP strategy, to playing a central role in our road-testing team.
An accomplished technologist and founder, Marc blends deep engineering expertise with rare commercial instincts. He’s launched high-impact ventures in Australia and the US, including LIFX, the smart lighting pioneer with over 1.8 million users, and Applied EV, where he led the development of a sixth-generation control system to drive tens of thousands of AI and human-operated autonomous vehicles across logistics, mining, and manufacturing applications globally.

Marc’s also a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, with several bikes in his garage and a riding habit that’s led him across continents. Yet for all his experience, one company has always felt like home. “I absolutely love working with good people,” he says, “and some of the finest I’ve ever met are here at Savic.”

After seven years of close collaboration with our leadership and engineering teams, Marc’s here to serve the team and Savic Motorcycles’ goals. True to his philosophy of servant leadership, he remains hands-on – working side-by-side with the team, rolling up his sleeves, enabling and empowering them to deliver and push boundaries.

He’s also the proud owner of C-Series #003, a connection that gives him an intimate understanding of our hardware, software, apps, and rider experience. His insights have helped to shape our technology roadmap, from core ride dynamics to customer engagement, embedded software to connectivity and customer platforms.

“What excites me is how our software, hardware and riders connect,” says Marc. “No one else in Australia is building this kind of system and its high-value IP – technology that not only responds to the rider but supports them and evolves with them. It’s about anticipating what customers will need next – and being ready before they even ask.”
