Mark Raumer

There are two distinct reasons why Savic Motorcycles is extremely lucky to have secured the financial guidance of Mark Raumer for our next phase of growth. As the former CFO of Allianz Australia, Mark has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the intricacies of corporate governance, risk, and prudential regulations that govern Australia’s capital markets. But just as importantly, he has a deep personal passion for renewable energy – and he absolutely loves motorcycles.

“Lots of startups have great ideas, a few turn their ideas into things, but very few can produce something that can survive in the real world,” says Mark. “Dennis and his team have delivered a real-world product – he is clearly a guy who gets things done.”

Mark Raumer has been riding motorcycles his whole life, starting with a Suzuki RM125 dirt bike when he was just 12 years old. “I’ll admit that I’m gagging to get behind the handlebars of a C-Series,” he says.

Mark joined Savic on the recommendation of Nick Adamo, our inaugural chair, who he met at Ernst & Young, where both were partners. Mark worked at EY for 27 years before joining Allianz as their CFO in 2014, taking Australia’s third largest insurer through two major acquisitions. While at EY, he advised several clients on their capital raisings – and the prospect of helping “a bold startup with a big vision” excites him even more.

“There’s no doubt that Savic Motorcycles have an amazing product – we now need to secure the capital required to take the company to the next level,” says Mark. “We need a coherent offering that clearly shows potential investors the pathway to maturity and sustainable profitability.

“I’m confident that we will receive the support we need from the capital markets, and that we will deliver the financial targets we are projecting.”
