Sam Carter

It may be natural for a founding member of an innovation company to fill lots of shoes, but even the busiest founder would be hard-pressed to match Sam Carter when it comes to sheer diversity of roles.

Since joining Savic Motorcycles at the start of 2020, Sam has gone from being our photographer and graphic designer, to creating our touchscreen dash, designing a mobile app, and managing our website content. He’s routed the C-Series’ wiring, designed various bike accessories, built out our bodywork assembly line process, and laid out our first showroom. As one of our most seasoned riders, he’s also taken charge of test rides, run stalls at motor festivals, and been a ‘go-to’ contact for dozens of happy customers.

In short, Sam has become the face of Savic Motorcycles.

“Sam’s the link between the customer and the product, and the reason our test ride program has been so successful,” says Savic’s Chief Growth Officer, Victoria Brown. “When Sam’s leading your test ride, you know you’re talking directly to the product team – to someone who really knows the bike inside out – not just a marketer!”

Indeed, Sam’s grounding as a graphic designer launched him on a natural path from his heady passion for motorbikes to an integral part of the production team. Since he met Dennis at the 2018 Melbourne Moto Expo and joined the company as a volunteer, Sam’s been captivated by the idea of a homegrown, high-performance e-motorcycle. So when a customer contacts the company, or a bike’s delivered to someone’s home, chances are you’ll see Sam’s name on the paperwork – or be put through to him with any questions.

“I very much care for this company so if I notice that something needs doing, I’m straight into it,” says Sam. “Whether that’s fine-tuning a finish on the bike, improving our communications process, or delivering a bike – I’ll do whatever it takes. This company has been built on the promise of caring for our customers, and for me that will always come first.”

Today, Sam supports all aspects of our marketing – from online content to our configurator and app, to ‘mission-critical’ messaging including investor presentations, customer surveys, owner manuals, and assembly checklists. And of course, he’s still taking pretty much all the photos and videos of the C-Series you may see.

“I know and love this bike so much, I’m proud to do anything to get it in front of people’s eyes,” he says. “To me, transparency and honesty are the hallmarks of the best brands, and I want us to be the most trusted brand in Australia’s automotive industry.”
