Charging made simple!
How easy it really is to live with an electric motorcycle
One of the first questions people ask when considering an electric motorcycle isn’t about speed or styling, it’s actually about charging. Where do I plug it in? Will it fit into my routine? Is it going to be a hassle?
The good news is that charging an electric motorcycle is far simpler than most people expect, and for many riders, it quickly becomes one of the best parts of ownership.
Below, we break down what charging actually looks like in real life.
Charging Speeds: What the Numbers Actually Mean
If you’re new to electric vehicles, charging can sound more technical than it really is. There are just two numbers that matter when it comes to charging time: battery capacity and charging speed.
- Battery capacity is measured in kilowatt-hours (kWh). The C-Series has a 16.2 kWh battery, which tells you how much energy it can store.
- Charging speed is measured in kilowatts (kW). The C-Series can charge at up to 3.3 kW, which determines how quickly energy flows into the battery.
To estimate charging time, you simply divide the battery size by the charging speed. At the maximum charge rate, a full charge takes around 4.9 hours (16.2 ÷ 3.3). Using a standard household power point, which typically delivers around 1.8 kW, a full charge takes longer, ideal for overnight charging.
In everyday use, you’re rarely charging from empty to full. Most riders are topping up after daily rides, which means real-world charging time is often much shorter.
Charge at Home Using a Standard Power Point
You don’t need special infrastructure, industrial wiring, or a custom charging station to live with an electric motorcycle like the C-Series. Most electric motorcycles can be plugged directly into a standard household power point, just like a laptop or appliance.
That means:
- No expensive installation required
- No reliance on public charging networks
- No change to how you park or store your bike
The C-Series comes with a charging cable that you can plug into any standard outlet. You’ll charge in 7 to 8 hours. If you have a 15amp outlet at home, you’ll be able to charge
For most riders, charging happens at home. Quietly, reliably, and without any fuss.

The C-Series Charging Port is located on the right side of the motorcycle, hidden behind the Savic lion symbol.

Overnight Charging Fits Seamlessly Into Daily Life
If you use your motorcycle for commuting or regular city riding, charging overnight is usually all you need.
You simply plug the bike in when you get home and unplug it in the morning. There’s no detours, no fuel stops, no waiting around. It becomes a set-and-forget habit, similar to charging your phone.
This routine works especially well for:
- Daily commuters
- Riders with predictable weekday usage
- Anyone who prefers starting each day with a “full tank”
Top Up at Work or On the Go
Many riders find that they don’t even need to think about charging beyond home, but flexibility is there if you want it.
Because charging uses a regular outlet, it’s easy to:
- Top up at work if a power point is available
- Add range while visiting friends or family
- Plug in during longer stops rather than planning around fuel stations
- Use public EV charging stations [these will charge at 3.3kW rate so are great if you’re in a shopping centre for an hour to get a quick juice up].
Instead of hunting for a servo, charging often happens naturally while you’re already parked.
Charging Becomes Background Noise (In a Good Way)
One of the biggest surprises for new electric riders is how quickly charging fades into the background. There’s no smell, no noise, no detours, and no need to “wait until empty.” You charge when it suits you, not when the bike demands it.
For most owners, the question stops being “Where can I charge?” and becomes “Why did I ever think this would be complicated?”
Battery Health: Do You Need to Worry About Degradation?
Battery health is one of the most common concerns people have when considering an electric motorcycle, and it’s far less of a concern than it’s often made out to be.
Like all modern EVs, electric motorcycle batteries are designed so the fastest, most efficient charging happens through the majority of the charge cycle. The C-Series can be charged to 100%, with an intelligent buffer already built in at the top of the battery to protect long-term health. In everyday riding, most owners rarely need the full range anyway, which further supports battery longevity over time.
The batteries used in the C-Series are cycle-tested for 1,000 full charging cycles. In real-world terms, that equates to well over 240,000 kilometres of riding before the battery’s capacity gradually reduces to around 80% of its original range.
In other words:
- You’re not replacing the battery any time soon
- Degradation is slow, predictable, and well understood
- The technology is proven, reliable, and designed for longevity
For most riders, battery health simply isn’t something they think about day-to-day, it just works quietly in the background, year after year.
