Welcome to the Future
Words: Victoria Brown, Chief Growth Officer
Earlier this year, I witnessed a moment that encapsulated everything we've been striving for at Savic Motorcycles. After a test ride on our C-Series, a seasoned journalist locked eyes with me, a wild-eyed grin spreading across their face. It was a look of pure exhilaration. Up until that point, most feedback had come from our internal team or ‘friendlies’ – people inherently supportive of our vision. But this was different. This was external, unbiased confirmation that our relentless effort over the past seven years had just transitioned into something remarkable. It was the steady release of a long-held breath, that quiet, fist-clenching “yes” that confirms something momentous – internal smile, that confirmation of something you already knew.
That moment signified that the future we’ve been envisioning for so long was no longer a distant concept, but had finally arrived.
The electric tipping point
As Savic’s Chief Growth Officer, my mission is to propel our brand forward, ensuring that our motorcycles reach the hands of those ready to embrace the future. Growth happens when product, brand and experience are aligned – that’s the flywheel we’ve been building: from completing our cutting-edge EV bikes, to sharing our story with the world, to rolling out our test ride program, to now – finally – delivering our bikes to their proud owners.
We're at a pivotal juncture to support our growth. The Electric Vehicle Council of Australia forecasts that to meet our Net Zero 2050 goals, more than 50% of new vehicles need to be electric by 2030 – a date that's rapidly approaching. The growth trajectory of EV passenger vehicles in Australia has been increasing exponentially; after a dip during COVID in 2020, 10% of new passenger vehicles sold last year were EVs, up 15% YOY.
But while EV car adoption is accelerating, electric motorcycles is a segment where we see even greater potential. The global market for electric motorbikes, valued at over US$7.8 billion in 2022, is projected to reach approximately US$17 billion by 2030 – a whopping 11.9% compound annual growth rate (CAGR), according to EMR. These indicators confirm the clear momentum in the market, as the world shifts towards more sustainable, high-performance mobility. Across the globe, cities are planning for quieter, cleaner transport – and two wheels will always be a part of that mix. From urban charging infrastructure to policy incentives, electric motorbikes are already a critical part of the conversation.
The shape of things to come
We aren’t adapting to a changing industry, we’ve been anticipating it for years – since 2016 when Dennis first unveiled his concept for a high-performance e-motorcycle. This goes to the core of our business; growing is about being able to recognise the future before it becomes the present, and build for that reality. That’s exactly what we’ve done with the C-Series. In many ways, the C-Series has captured the moment the future breaks through – where premium design, cutting-edge EV tech, and performance come together in a sophisticated, zero-emissions machine. The fact that it’s made in Australia only adds to its future-ready credentials.
Best of all, we’re seeing the rise of a new kind of rider – someone who cares about the planet, about homegrown quality, about how their ride reflects who they are. These riders want purpose alongside performance. Our test ride feedback and customer orders show clear demand patterns that support that – our customers want performance, they want personalisation in the form of choices on bodywork and styling, and they want purpose. For some, it’s the sustainability of electrification; for others it’s supporting an Australian-born idea. More than half of our test riders move into serious conversations about ownership after their test ride – a signal that once you ride electric, it’s a very compelling proposition.
What is consistent across all our customers is their willingness to lead this belief shift. To show that electric bikes are becoming incredibly cool, breaking new boundaries of performance without sacrificing any of the thrill of the ride. We want to show that, just like an iPhone wasn’t “a better phone” but a whole different experience, the C-series isn’t a motorbike without petrol – it’s a brand new, totally different riding experience.
The future is now
Over the next few months, we’re entering a really exciting phase, a pivotal moment in Savic’s journey as we transition from pre-orders to deliveries. We've got big plans ahead for the next 12 months, including new showrooms, entering new global markets (and of course, exciting new bike models) - we're not slowing down, we're gaining momentum.
We are here to let riders know the electric motorcycle revolution has arrived. We’re not imagining what could be. We’re showing what already is – a premium, high-performance, all-electric café racer that’s real, rideable, and on the road now. The future of motorcycling isn’t a dream. It’s a Savic C-Series motorbike.
The C-Series has arrived. And for those ready to lead, it’s waiting here for you – fully charged, raring to go, and always, unapologetically Australian.
