Savic, Australia’s first high-performance electric motorcycle manufacturer, has unveiled a new website that allows users to build their own electric motorcycle, according to their preferred specifications.
The new Savic Motorcycle Configurator allows users to design their own Savic C-Series, modifying colours and various trims and optional components and upgrades.
The website also provides a built-in augmented reality (AR) viewer, enabling users to project their virtual motorcycle to scale in their own driveway – designed as both a practical tool for determining storage as well as providing each user to create their own unique visualisation of their bike.
Savic is partnering with Future Perfect Digital, a visual technology studio start-up specialising in web-based 3D content and “mixed reality” experiences.
The Melbourne-based electric motorcycle company unveiled the Savic C-Series back in late-2020, the first high-performance electric motorcycle to be made in Australia.
The Savic Motorcycle Configurator provides users the ability to customise either the Savic C-Series Delta, starting at $19,990 rideaway, or the Alpha, which starts at $26,990 ride away.
Specifications for the Delta start with 40kW of power delivering 140nm of torque and 54 horsepower, with an acceleration of 0-100km/h of only 4.5-seconds and a 14.2kWh battery providing 150-kilometres of range.
The Alpha supercharges these specs, delivering 60kW of power with 200nm of torque and 80 horsepower. Acceleration of 0-100km/h drops to 3.5-seconds and a 16.7kWh battery provides electric range of 200-kilometres.
Of course, modifying these bikes will affect the specifications and price.
The launch of the Savic Motorcycle Configurator follows the recent completion of a $1.8 million capital raise which Savic expects will allow it to deliver on its ambitious product roadmap beyond the release of the first C-Series motorcycle later this year.
Savic has subsequently removed the entry-level Omega model, which was originally launched alongside the Alpha and Delta back in late-2020, citing a desire to focus broaden the suite of Savic electric motorcycles.
“With the exciting new e-mobility products we have coming to the Australian market in the near future, we felt there were not sufficient market distinctions between the Omega and a new series of LAMS Approved e-motorcycles we currently have in development,” said Dennis Savic, company CEO.
“However, our C-Series customers are the foundation of our company and we are committed to honouring and building those Omegas already on order,” he said.
