Latest Software Release Notes
Version Information
Release Date: 16/04/2026
Firmware Version: VCU: v1.0.57 · Dash: 1.0.236+
Overview
This release includes significant improvements to battery management, connectivity, and user interface. Key enhancements focus on battery reporting accuracy, a redesigned Wi-Fi interface, hardened network failover, and streamlined display logic.
Major Features & Improvements
🔋 Battery & Charging
Improved Battery Accuracy
100% charge now displays reliably. The battery percentage will correctly snap to 100% when the pack has been fully charged and held at peak voltage for a sustained period — previously it could read 98–99% even on a complete charge.
Battery percentage is now sourced directly from the VCU for greater accuracy. The dashboard no longer runs its own parallel State of Charge calculation, eliminating occasional mismatches between what the VCU knew and what the display showed.
📶 Connectivity — Wi-Fi
Redesigned Wi-Fi Settings
Completely redesigned Wi-Fi settings page. The screen has been rebuilt from scratch with a cleaner layout, a proper on-screen keyboard that dismisses correctly, a password visibility toggle, and a live “Connecting…” state so you can see what the bike is doing.
Saved networks now persist across reboots. Wi-Fi credentials are written to storage, so the bike will automatically reconnect to known networks after a restart without needing to re-enter passwords.
Improved network scanning. The available networks list now rescans reliably when you open the page.
🌐 Connectivity — LTE & Network Failover
Hardened Network Transitions
Hardened LTE/Wi-Fi failover. Switching between a Wi-Fi connection and the onboard LTE modem is significantly more robust, with connection state properly reset on each transition.
DNS no longer breaks when switching networks. A bug that caused internet connectivity to silently fail after moving between Wi-Fi and LTE has been fixed.
Improved modem recovery. The LTE modem can now recover itself after certain failure conditions without requiring a full reboot.
📱 Bluetooth
Bluetooth Proximity
Bluetooth proximity unlock is more reliable. The system now dynamically detects which Bluetooth adapter to use rather than assuming a fixed interface — this fixes proximity detection on units where the adapter was enumerated differently.
🖥️ Display & UI
New Display Logic
Home screen simplified. The lean angle readout and secondary icon row have been removed from the main riding screen for a cleaner, less cluttered view.
“Normal” mode renamed to “Standard”. The default riding mode label has been updated across the dash.
Pull-down menu disabled during charging. The swipe-down menu is no longer accessible while the bike is in the Charge state to prevent accidental mode changes.
Display timeout is now context-aware. While charging the screen sleeps after 15 seconds as before; in the off/parked state it now stays on for 30 seconds giving you more time to interact without the display cutting out.
🛡️ Safety & Fault Handling
System Maintenance & Recovery
Isolation auto-recovery. For certain recoverable fault conditions, the bike can now exit isolation automatically after a 10-second cooldown once the fault condition clears, rather than requiring manual intervention via the app or a restart.
Improved lock behaviour. After locking the bike, pressing the mode button to wake the display is now required before the PIN unlock prompt will accept input — preventing an accidental immediate unlock.
Odometer and trip data backed up over CAN. Mileage data (total odometer, Trip 1, Trip 2) is now broadcast on the CAN bus in addition to being stored locally, providing a redundant source of record for your mileage.
Notes for Riders
100% charge now displays reliably once the pack has been fully charged and held at peak voltage for a sustained period.
Battery percentage is now sourced directly from the VCU for greater accuracy.
Saved networks now persist across reboots; Wi-Fi credentials are written to storage.
Display timeout is now context-aware: while charging the screen sleeps after 15 seconds, and in the off/parked state it stays on for 30 seconds.
As always, please ensure your bike is updated via the Savic app. If you encounter any issues after the update, contact support.
Version Information
Release Date: 13/02/2026
Firmware Version: Dash: 1.0.217
Overview
This release includes significant improvements to battery management, user interface, and system reliability. Key enhancements focus on power derating protection, display control, regenerative braking, and user experience improvements.
Major Features & Improvements
🔋 Battery Management & Power Protection
Enhanced Power Derating System
Automatic Power Limiting: When battery charge drops below 15%, power is automatically limited to protect the battery
Early Warning System: You'll receive a warning notification when battery charge falls below 30%, giving you advance notice before power limiting begins
Progressive Protection: As battery voltage decreases, the system progressively reduces available power to prevent damage
Safety Isolation: If battery voltage drops too low, the system automatically isolates the battery for safety
Improved Battery Level Display
Battery level readings are now more accurate and stable
The display no longer shows false drops during hard acceleration
Battery level is calculated and displayed more reliably
🚗 Regenerative Braking
Enhanced Regen Performance
Maximum regenerative braking power increased by 50% for stronger braking
Regen engagement and deactivation are now smoother and more predictable
Prevents rapid cycling on and off at low speeds for a better riding experience
⚙️ Reverse Mode
Reverse power increased by 50% for improved reverse maneuverability
🖥️ Display Control
New Display Logic
Mode Button Control: Tap the mode button to illuminate the display when the bike is in Charge, Isolation, or Off states
Unlock Functionality: To unlock, illuminate the screen and enter your PIN. If using a proximity key and it's in range, tapping the mode button will immediately unlock the bike
Auto Timeout: Display automatically turns off after 15 seconds of inactivity if the bike remains in a state where the display can timeout
State-Based Behavior: Display remains on during active riding states (Drive Ready, Drive, etc.)
🌡️ Thermal Management
Improved Fan Control
Fan now activates based on component temperatures to keep the system cool
Prevents rapid fan cycling on and off, reducing unnecessary noise
Fan also activates automatically when riding at speed
🔧 System Maintenance & Diagnostics
Dash Reboot Function
Hold Cruise + Mode buttons for 5 seconds to reboot the dash display
No longer requires isolation when dash has communication issues
Improves troubleshooting and system recovery
New UI Features
New status icons at the top of the display show system connectivity and status
📊 User Interface Improvements
Notification System
Notification banner now displays important warnings including: Battery power limiting warnings, Kickstand down warnings, and Critical system warnings take priority
Temperature Display
Motor temperature on home screen now shows simplified indicators: LOW (electric blue) - Cold, MEDIUM (green) - Normal operating temperature, HIGH (red) - Hot
Easier to read at a glance than numeric temperature readings
Notes for Riders
Battery level readings are now more accurate and stable
Display will automatically turn off after 15 seconds when the bike is off, charging, or in isolation mode to conserve power
Fan operation may be more noticeable, but this is normal and indicates the system is properly managing temperatures
If you experience display issues, hold the Cruise + Mode buttons together for 5 seconds to reboot the display
