2026 Savic C-Series motorcycle tested

Futuristic lines make it feel as though it rolled off the set of a sci-fi blockbuster – Tron, Minority Report, The Matrix or Robocop. The hardware reads like a film poster touting high-performance Brembo brakes, premium Pirelli tyres and suspension carefully tuned by pro racer Jed Mechter.

It looks as though it came from the prop department of a Hollywood studio – when in reality, it was made in Melbourne.

Special effects start when you switch it on.

There’s no whirr from the priming of a fuel pump, no roar from the exhaust and no snarl from the air intake at the start of a journey – mainly because it doesn’t have any of those parts.

Instead, it has a 16.2kWh lithium-ion battery and permanent magnet electric motor that send drive to the rear tyre via a carbon belt – not a noisy chain.
